JAIPUR, 20th December 2025 – In a landmark moment for Indian sports, the heritage-inspired trophy for the Bajaj Pune Grand Tour 2026 was officially unveiled today in Jaipur. The ceremony, attended by high-ranking dignitaries and sports officials, signals India’s formal entry into the global professional cycling arena with its first-ever UCI 2.2 classified road race.
The event was graced by Diya Kumari, Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, and Jitendra Dudi (IAS), Collector of Pune District and the visionary lead behind the race. They were joined by Madan Rathore (MP, Rajasthan), Dr. Niraj K Pawan (IAS) (Rajasthan Sports Secretary), Onkar Singh (Chairman, Cycling Federation of India), and Sarika Choudhary (Chairperson, Selection Committee, Rajasthan Cycling Association).

India’s Entry into Global Cycling: The Bajaj Pune Grand Tour 2026, supported by the Government of Maharashtra and Pune District Administration, is India’s inaugural UCI-sanctioned race, positioning the country on the global cycling map.
Heritage Meets Sport: The handcrafted trophy, created by Pune’s revered Tambat Aali coppersmiths, embodies the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and eight historic forts along the race route, blending tradition with modern sportsmanship.
A 4-Stage Spectacle: Spanning 437 km, the race showcases Pune’s scenic landscapes, promoting sports tourism and inspiring local talent.
