मोहनलाल के साथ हुए छोटी सी मुलाकात के बारे में बात करते हुए, पापोन ने कहा, "एक महान और विनम्र कलाकार से मिलना बहुत प्यारा था। हम लिफ्ट में एक-दूसरे से टकरा गए और वह मेरे कमरे में आए और मैंने अपने राज्य में उनका गर्मजोशी से स्वागत किया। जाहिर तौर पर, वह कल मेरे गाने सुन रहे थे और जब हम एक-दूसरे से मिले तो उन्होंने मेरे काम की तारीफ की और मुझे केरल आमंत्रित किया जहां उन्होंने मेरे लिए खाना बनाने का वादा किया। ऐसा लगा कि जैसे मैं अपने किसी बड़े भाई से मिला।"

अपने संगीत के माध्यम से दिलों में प्रेम भरने वाले, पापोन ने गुलज़ार के जन्मदिन पर अपनी हाल ही में रिलीज़ हुई 'कहानी कोई' (roz hoti hai kahani koyi lyrics) के साथ देश को खुश कर दिया। सबसे भावपूर्ण गायकों में से एक के रूप में प्रसिद्ध, पापोन ने गीत के साथ श्रोताओं को भी मंत्रमुग्ध कर दिया, जो गीत के साथ अनुभवी लेखक के जीवन का जश्न मनाते है।

Papon's rendezvous with Mohanlal: 'It felt like meeting an elder brother

In a country where celebrities are revered with devotion, it makes us wonder what happens when stars of different worlds meet. Much of the same happened when the multifaceted Papon met one of the biggest superstars of the South Indian film industry - Mohanlal. The unplanned rendezvous eventuated in Guwahati and they greeted each other with utmost love, which is palpable in the pictures posted by the music star. Papon introduced Mohanlal to the culture of Assam and gifted a ‘gamosa’ to him.

Talking about the heartfelt bump-in with Mohanlal, Papon said, "It was lovely meeting a great and humble artist. We bumped each other in the lift and he came to my room and I hosted him with a warm welcome in my state. Apparently, he was listening to my songs yesterday and when we met each other he praised my work and invited me to Kerala where he promised to cook for me. It felt like meeting an elder brother."

Healing hearts through his music, Papon delighted the nation with his recently released Kahāni Koyi on Gulzar's birthday. Renowned as one of the most soulful singers, Papon mesmerised listeners with the song that celebrates the life of the veteran writer with the song.

His recent tracks such as Maula, Khidki, Siyaahi, Zindagi from Bala, and Yeh Hausle from 83 are proof that he knows how to regale his listeners across genres. Through Paatigonit, Koi Nidia Kiyaw, and Rode Rodaale Saa, he has catered to his Assamese fanbase too.
